Jamie Wright an accredited nutritionist explains why protein is arguably the most important nutrient for weight loss. When we eat protein, our body will digest that food and break down the protein nutrients into these amino acids.
One of the most beneficial effects of a higher protein diet for helping us with weight loss is that it actually makes us feel fuller for longer. When we eat protein, it triggers a cascade of fullness hormones. Hormones are essentially chemical messengers which travel around our body and instruct processes to start, stop change.
Fun fact: Take a moment and look down at your hands. That’s protein, the fingernails that’s protein too.
